I little while back i had a repair done. I assumed my technician wasnt seasoned and appreciated their professionalism, resolution and communication, so i referred people
Boy, was that image nuked out of the water
I know this person having clear electrical issues. I tell them to take it in. Bockmans shows us mice damage under the wheel well engine block area, they fix it and we pick it up right before this past holiday weekend. Within 48 hrs the issues start again, so he brings it back. Its the same cause, mice damage. And they want to charge him for a whole new repair. They claim it’s new damage. We do not live in an area that mine could have gotten in and made that much damage within that time frame. This vehicle is used daily.
80ish in parts and disposal, $675 in labor. Both times
How was the inspection done that it could have missed this? Regardless of the negative i could theorize on, it seems illogical to claim new damage.
Would not recommend again

I understand that rodent damage can recur in situations. However, my main concern remains the very short timeframe (within 48 hours), the extent of the damage, and how it was determined that this was entirely new damage versus potentially incomplete or previously undetected damage from the initial repair is a huge red flag. Possible but highly unlikely given the circumstances of that time frame of that weekend with this vehicle
What is especially concerning is that a second full repair was recommended and priced out so soon after the first visit, despite limited clarity or communication regarding the original inspection, findings, and full scope of the initial issue. Without addressing stated concerns. So quick to refute not prove against our suspicions
My friend also called the shop to try to better understand the situation, but did not find the conversation helpful in clarifying the concern at all.
Just now mentioning this NAPA warranty, which i looked into and it seems like this would be covered?
Also, regardless of who or when at this point, if this shop prided itself on customer service, satisfaction and retention why would they not warn him about the repetition of the situation and how to prevent it. Shameful imo
Overall, the experience left me with doubts about the thoroughness of the initial inspection, the consistency of the assessments at each visit following and the shop’s willingness to look into technician faults/accountability.
I would not recommend to anyone based on this experience and other testimonies I’ve heard while i looked into this as they do not seem credible

Their willingness to help is remarkable and truly reflects a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Even though my English is not perfect, communication was smooth and the service was always impeccable.
Additionally, the shuttle service that takes you home while your vehicle is being serviced is a great added value.
Overall, a very positive experience. Highly recommended.

Their service is friendly, honest, and transparent. I don't feel like I'm getting BSed and they communicate thoroughly on estimated time/cost of repair.

But I would equally feel rotten if I didn't tell the world what a good place this is to take your vehicle. From oil changes to full engine replacements these folks know what they are doing. (Yes, they replaced my engine!).
The customer service is wonderful and is not comparable to any other shops in the area that I have found. But I am also not looking. I have found my shop and I am very grateful to have done so.

Had an appointment for a Monday. They said I could drop it off the prior Thursday since it's hard to coordinate moving cars around while I work in Rockford. They had an estimate for repairs before noon on that Friday. Repairs were finished by Wednesday, but they discovered a different issue. They were able to resolve it quickly and I had my car back by Thursday night.
Sam, Lee, and the other Sam have been SO nice and pleasant to work with. Everyone has been so nice and personable and I can't thank them enough. If you ever need work on your car, GO TO BOCKMANS!

If you care enough to leave your vehicle in our hands, you should get to know the people who are going to work on it, help you at the front desk, work behind the scenes, and, yes, the guy who’s ultimately responsible for your satisfaction.
