The Legacy of Bockman’s: A 60-Year Journey –
Since our founding in 1964, Bockman’s has grown from a humble gas station in Peotone to a trusted auto repair shop with locations in DeKalb and Sycamore.
Jon Bockman, our second-generation owner, shared his thoughts on this incredible milestone:
“Making it to 60 years is a huge accomplishment. It reflects the trust our customers place in us and the dedication of our team. We couldn’t have done it without our amazing community.”
Many of our customers have been with us for generations, and that family-like connection continues to inspire everything we do.
Giving Back to Our Community
Supporting Sycamore Music Programs
In March 2024, we proudly donated $1,500 to the Sycamore Music Boosters, helping them rebuild after a difficult year. The organization faced a significant loss when a former treasurer embezzled over $90,000, affecting programs that benefit students in Sycamore School District 427. We wanted to do our part to ensure music education continues to thrive in our community.
Partnering with Project Fire Buddies
In November, we partnered with Project Fire Buddies, a nonprofit that provides care and comfort to children battling critical illnesses. Thanks to the generosity of our customers, we raised $1,150, which Jon Bockman presented to Ian Wheeler, President of Project Fire Buddies’ Sycamore chapter.
“This fundraiser showed how our community can come together for a powerful cause,” Jon said. “We’re honored to support families in need through this incredible organization.”
Big Changes at Both of Our Shops
DeKalb Shop Renovations: A Modern Look for a New Era
This year, we made major upgrades at our DeKalb truck center:
- Exterior Improvements: New siding, fresh paint, updated signage, and a new roof.
- Interior Revamp: A customer lounge, a modern reception area, a dedicated break room for our team, and new offices.
These updates were designed to create a more comfortable and welcoming space for our customers and team members.
Sycamore Shop Gets a Fresh New Look
Not to be outdone, our Sycamore shop also received some significant updates! We added a sleek new awning and updated our signage to enhance curb appeal. A bit of landscaping rounded out the improvements, giving the shop a refreshed, polished look. We’re excited for you to see the upgrades next time you stop by!
